Burning in the Sun.

Burning sun, all burning in the sun
The children screamed so loud
Sounded like they were having fun
Hope their dying made industry proud
Mums and Dads wept bitterly
But theirs were tears of joy
To see a crispy fried daughter
And beer battered baby boy
It gave them hope in a New Climate world
Where the only choice was to adapt
The dead were victims of natural selection
Our Prime Minister saw to that
Temperatures rise, forests die
Lets bury our heads in the sand
Cutting emissions will costs jobs
And jobs equal votes in this land
So drinks were sunk, people got drunk
The BBQ was spitting fire
Footy teams were splitting seams
Topless barmaids for hire
Palm tress waved, lives were saved
No probing questions were asked
Nothing was done about the burning sun
Least of all trimming the grass
They say we are made of stardust
Forged in the heart of a star
The fake diamonds of the universe
Black as coal is what we are
